Research

In the Sport and Health Sociology unit, research is conducted on a wide range of topics in the field of "sport and society" using qualitative and quantitative methods of empirical social research and drawing on various social science theoretical perspectives. Staff members address, among other things, social inequality and discrimination in sport, the societal effects of elite sport, embodiments of ideologies and identities, athletes’ participation and decision-making, family physical activity socialization, sport and gender, as well as aspects of biopsychosocial health.
