AI Events & Workshops

On this page you will find an overview of our events related to AI. Further trainings, e.g. on Stud.IP, the use of SmartBoards, etc., can be found under the tab Events. The Digital Learning and Teaching team offers (online and in person) training sessions and events, partly in close cooperation with the Higher Education Didactics.
In addition, we are happy to provide individual consultations or consultations together with your colleagues.



The AI teaching workshop offers you, after a short introduction to the topic of AI, the opportunity to actively try out various tools using different tasks and then discuss their possible use in your teaching with other instructors. Please register using the form below.

The Online Teaching Dialogue (OLD) is an event series that regularly addresses current topics related to teaching and learning (in online settings). These topics often also relate to AI in the higher education context. Practical tips and tricks for teaching are discussed and participants have the opportunity to exchange experiences. Location: Online

Fit for Teaching with AI Tools is a semester-long course offer for all instructors who teach a course at the university during the winter semester 2025/2026. The course covers the fundamentals of AI, with a special focus on important ethical and legal frameworks for the use of AI tools in higher education teaching. You will learn how to apply AI tools in a didactically meaningful, responsible, and guided way within a specific course. No prior experience is required.

In this workshop we examine writing processes in the academic context that are changing significantly through the use of AI. You will receive ideas and practical methods that allow you to teach students writing skills that enable a reflective and responsible use of AI. The workshop is open to instructors from all faculties.

The sub-project “AI in Studies, Teaching and Examinations” is a joint project of all public universities in Lower Saxony. Its goal is to enable instructors to develop AI competencies and use AI in a reflective and responsible way. The previous event series “AI Compact” will continue in the summer semester of 2026. Topics include academic writing and working with AI, examinations with AI, and regulations concerning the use of AI in higher education teaching. Each session includes a short presentation (approx. 30–40 minutes) followed by time for discussion with the speakers and participants.

The online workshops in the series “AI Skills for Teachers” are open to external participants. Various possibilities for using AI in education are presented. The aim is to equip instructors with the necessary competencies to use AI tools in a reflective and purposeful way in teaching.
