Sonam Priya is a Visiting Research Scholar at the Chair of Development Economics/CeMIS, University of Göttingen, supported by the Bayer Foundation Science Fellowship. She is a PhD Research Scholar in the BITS-RMIT Joint PhD Programme, jointly offered by BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus, India, and RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia. She holds a Master's degree in Population Studies from the International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), Mumbai, a postgraduate degree in Economics and a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Statistics from the University of Allahabad.



Her doctoral research examines how extreme weather events affect household welfare outcomes. Her research interests include climate and health, development economics, gender, and causal inference.
