Advisory Services Offered by the Quantitative Methods Division
The Institute of Methods and Methodological Principles in the Social Sciences and the Centre for Statistics offer advice on quantitative empirical methods and applied statistics for coursework and theses to students from all disciplines who are enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree programme at the Faculty of Social Sciences. This service is not available to students of medicine, microbiology, or genetics; please refer instead to the services offered by the University Medical Center Göttingen. The advisory service for qualitative social research is currently being redesigned. For methodological questions and brief consultations, students are welcome to attend the regular office hours of staff members in the Qualitative Social Research Division. Students planning to use qualitative methods in their theses are particularly encouraged to attend the “BA Research Workshop” and “MA Research Workshop” seminars.We would also like to draw your attention to the continued availability of the equipment loan service and access to literature on qualitative and quantitative research methods.
